All Scandinavian capitals have a very interesting store

All Scandinavian capitals have a store where people listening to music from a PC can buy an interesting electro-acoustic transducer. They even have there handmade American headphones. Audeze LCD-MX4 features patented Double Fluxor™ Magnetic Array to achieve a flux density of 1.5 Tesla, the most powerful magnetic circuit ever in a headphone. Uniforce™ voice coil deliver precise detail and accurate bass response. Such an advanced design obviously requires a good amplifier to optimally drive them.

Headphones are the most commonly used, so there is a lot to choose from. You can fully use these possibilities if the optimal driver for the sound processor is also installed on your PC.

There are also inexpensive active desktop speakers with a power of 60 W and they benefit greatly from the appropriate setting setting in the PC of their placement parameters. This can often be set manually in the driver for the most popular audio processors on desktop motherboards. Laptops don't have this option for a headphone output where you can connect speakers.

Connecting them to your computer couldn't be easier and cable clutter is kept to a minimum.

A pleasant surprise is the wide range of active studio monitors. A very affordable offer is the German monitor providing 106 db SPL with a traditional 5-inch driver and a 50 W amplifier for low sound range and a very advanced design for precise reproduction of high tones.

Of course, the price for small monitors from the most renowned studio microphone brand is a completely different price. They are offered in a package that allows them to be perfectly calibrated to play music in a specific room. In this set, the high quality of the microphone ensures optimal parameters for playing music with these speakers. This offer from the Neumann brand, which is iconic in the world of music recording production, shows the importance of proper listening calibration.

There is also an even more advanced offer of this type from the Finnish manufacturer.

You can also find relatively inexpensive studio monitors with extensive software configuration options

Also available is the OD 11, which is a contemporary wireless offering but based on legendary Swedish design from the 1960s. It is sold in the store as a "Bluetooth speaker", i.e. mono, but 2 pcs can be for stereo.

You can even buy neat active speakers with textile upholstery to make them fit better in your home. They are with the legendary Swedish brand and sold individually. Special tests will be done with them and PC4uMusic configuration focused on reproducing the human voice. This loudspeaker is suitable for an individual or for groups of 2-4 people listening at home in Stockholm to the broadcast from the southern coast of the Baltic Sea.

The store also offers a Yamaha stage sound system and this is suitable for a larger group in a venue with difficult acoustics. Smaller groups of 5-10 people in a private living room with friendly acoustics can use the previously mentioned OD 11.

A solution with the American brand Bose, similar to the one from Yamaha, gave quite good sound in Harry's Art Cafe with very difficult acoustics. Yamaha offers clearly better amplifiers that are more difficult to overdrive.

  1. The concept and assortment in these stores are very interesting, but friendly service is not enough and even more practical knowledge is needed.
